LEONCIO MONTEMAYOR /// PROJECT MANAGER - SOLARPLAZA
Leoncio has been passionate about energy since his first encounter with it during a thermodynamics course while studying mechanical engineering. His graduation project involved the design of a solar stirling engine that would be used in marginalized communities in Mexico for electricity and heat provision. After graduation, he went on to work for General Electric as a performance engineer doing thermal tests on natural gas turbines. However, the long-term sustainability of the energy system prompted him to study a Master in Sustainable Energy Technology at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. His master thesis was about how key assumptions affect the social cost of carbon in mathematical climate policy models. Now, as a project manager at Solarplaza, Leoncio is interested in the innovations (blockchain, AI, etc) that will play a big role in the electrical grid of the future.
